Hire me
I make my living selling consultancy services mostly, and the bits and pieces I do here on the blog and on networks like LinkedIn and on my newsletter are only possible because I have clients who pay me to do useful things for them.
Sometimes it is researching and writing a strategy, sometimes giving a project a kick to get it moving, other times it is just a bit of advice and guidance so they don’t feel like they are dealing with all this stuff on their own quite so much.
You can:
- Hire me as an interim on a part time basis (usually 2 or 3 days a week)
- Ask me to quote for a particular project with set deliverables and a fixed price. Stuff like writing strategies, undertaking research, developing options appraisals, designing programmes, running restructures, etc etc
- Take me up on my “trusted advisor” offer – half a day a month to use however you need, for a bargain £5,000 + VAT a year paid up front. I’ll be on the phone when you need me, or available to proof read a report for you, talk through a decision you are about to make, or attend a meeting where you need someone to have your back. Or indeed something else I haven’t thought of yet.

Some people i have worked within the past have even been willing to say nice things about me afterwards!
Here’s Neil Williams, the Executive Director of Technology and Digital Transformation at The British Film Institute:
Dave has a perfect, rare blend of transformational vision, pragmatism, and a deep and broad knowledge of the local government technology landscape. He also knows how to build and lead high-functioning teams and disseminate digital learning throughout the organisation.
An inspiring leader with a no nonsense approach. Dave was my first call when I took on a digital leadership role in a local authority, and he should be yours too.
Nice one! How about this from Clare Evans, who is Director of Transformation at Tewkesbury Borough Council?
Dave provides much-needed sense and pragmatism in the complex local government digital landscape. He quickly picks up strategic requirements and challenges, and is filled with great ideas that also consider the ‘on the ground’ reality.
I’m blushing now, so just one more. This time it’s Adam Walther, who now is Assistant Director Corporate Delivery at the London Borough of Lambeth!
As soon as I took on the head of digital role I reached out to Dave. From his technical understanding to his wide reaching network if he doesn’t know something, he’ll know someone who does. Best of all Dave is deeply pragmatic. He’s got the T-shirt, he knows how small budgets, capability gaps and challenging colleagues impact on delivery – especially in a council such as Woking. In a digital world with a lot of noise, Dave helps find the signal.
That’s enough commercial messaging. Am here to help if you need me 🙂
